The character concept is a kind of immovable dude who parks himself in a spot and uses a reach weapon (I've chosen the Bladed Scarf because I think it's really cool so that's a core concept that I don't want to change) to lash out at enemies. ... The eldritch archer is an old dnd mainstay with a great theme. Given what we've seen of the magus so far, it seems to me like they were using the eldritch archer to test out some of the earlier concepts, particularly spell strike (eldritch shot). The eldritch archer has pretty much the exact same problem that the play test magus had.Dante is kinda known for being a decent jack of all trades and being able to pick up any weapon, so I'd honestly go fighter with maybe a gunslinger multiclass. Panache seems fitting but the rest of swashbuckler doesn't really fit and you can really rp the panache anyways so it's not really worth going imo. 8. Monk magus is already strong (well monk anything is strong) due to the sheer defensive power monk offers as a base class. When making a Spellstrike, the character can activate a Monk ability with a cost of one action that also requires/utilizes a Strike. That said, spell strike has to be recharged between uses. Most turns are "recharge spell strike, 2 action spell strike" so missing a spell strike is a huge loss from an action economy standpoint.

That is the biggest hurdle for this build imo. You won't be a full gunslinger, so won't have your way reload until later levels to help even out your action economy. And Magus in general is already pretty action starved. Starlit is less so than the melee centric ones, but spellstrike being 2 actions makes it tough to fit in reload actions.

Using a weapon that needs to be reloaded with a magus is gonna put a real strain on your action ecconomy.
